Mine Creek Brigade
Members of the Mine Creek Brigade are part of a national
association of citizens supporting the preservation and development
of the battlefield at Mine Creek. Members acknowledge the
fact that America's battlefield's are being lost to commercial
and residential development every day. In addition, members
believe the battlefield land at Mine Creek is no less important
than the hallowed ground at Gettysburg or Antietem and that
the men who fought, struggled and died here are no less worth
remembering than those who fought on fields more famous. Therefore,
the association's mission is to save as much of the battlefield
at Mine Creek as possible -- as a gift to future generations.
Benefits of Membership
Association members will receive a quarterly newsletter
produced by staff of the battlefield site with contributions
from foundation board members. In addition, members will be
invited to all special events at the Mine Creek Battlefield
State Historic Site. Members will also receive an official
certificate of membership, suitable for framing. All contributions
to the Mine Creek Battlefield Foundation, a tax-exempt organization
under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, are
deductible for computing income and estate taxes.
Levels of Giving
Individual -- $10
Premium Family -- $20*
* The "Premium Family" level
of giving is our most popular membership category and allows
you and your family to visit the Mine Creek site as often
as you wish during the year. In 2004, your membership card
will also include entrance to the 104th Anniversary Celebration
and Reenactment for up to four family members. That's a savings
of $20 based on the public admission price of $5 per person.
Come join and be part of the Mine Creek Brigade. Several events
are being planned this year for members only, including a
reception and V.I.P. tour of the battlefield in May or early
June.
